Stylish and simple Funeral flowers
Flowers always bring so much joy to special events such as weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries but unexpectedly this also includes funerals. I think fresh flower tributes are a marvelous way to celebrate someone’s life and I try to work closely with the family to make sure that the flowers are a fitting way to respect the personality, life and character of the recently departed.
Fresh flowers can be a special way of awakening memories that can help the family at this difficult time, especially when we can incorporate a favorite flower, or colour palette into the tributes we create. I like to be able to incorporate requests for specific flowers where seasonally available. For example I was recently I was asked to incorporate yellow freesias into a coffin spray, because the lady had had them in her wedding bouquet.
My website has recently been updated with photos of all the different funeral flower tributes styles I can create. These are just examples to give you an idea of what I can create and the cost. Every tribute that I make is bespoke and made up to the customer’s specific request. There is a selection of beautiful sprays, wreaths, posies etc. in a mix of traditional, modern and creative designs.
I deliver flowers to local funeral directors in the Chichester and Bognor Regis area without charge, which is something else to bear in mind. Also, I do not charge any extra for message cards to accompany the tributes. I hope that all of this helps to make the process of ordering flowers for such a busy and understandably difficult time, much easier.
On my website I have tried purposely separated Sympathy flower and Funeral flowers, in my mind Sympathy flowers are designs that are sent to families to express condolences and funeral flowers are sent to the actual funeral service.
I do not have an online facility for ordering funeral flowers, this is such an important occasion that I like to speak to the person ordering the flowers, whether it be over the phone or by a personal visit to my workshop. Arrangements can be made by email too. This is because I would hate to be in a situation where someone orders flowers for delivery the next day and I would not be able to fulfill the order.
Here is a short guide to the most popular designs we can create and where they can be used.
Coffin sprays – these are typically laid on top of the coffin, they can be double ended with a soft arch of flowers or single ended – creating a teardrop shape.
Wreaths – The circular design is probably the most popular and best known.
Hand tied sheaves - are very versatile as they can be created to be completely biodegradable for funerals in a natural setting, and alternatively are ideal for family to take home after the service.
I like to think that by providing beautiful and thoughtful floral tributes, for a funeral makes such a poignant occasion a life celebrated and that they have helped lift the spirits of those present.
Here is a message received today - "Thank you for arranging the flowers for my fathers funeral and making a rather stressful day a little less difficult. "
