How to choose your flowers

Every day your Chichester Florist is asked similar questions about choosing flowers. Although I love to chat, you may like to be more prepared before calling me !

Don’t feel that you need to know flower names or styles of bouquets, I am here to help you with that, and to figure out what the intended recipient might like.

Do you know what colours they like? Do you know the colours of their home décor ? Do you think they would appreciate a traditionally styled bouquet, something romantic or something more contemporary? Any of this information would be useful to your Chichester florist to enable me to create something suitable.

Where will the recipient display the flowers ? In an entrance hall or dining table ? In which case a larger display may be more suitable or something a bit smaller for a side or coffee table maybe ?

You need to have a budget in mind, and the images and suggestions on the front page of the website will give you a great idea of our starting prices. All of these designs are there to give you an idea of what you can have for your money, they can be made up in any colour or flower combination.

A smaller arrangement may start from £25.00, hand tied bouquets from £30.00 and larger designs from £50.00 +

I will normally make bouquets using a mixture of long lasting flowers and other flowers that are in season.

Once you have sorted out exactly what you are going to send, then we need to know what you would like us to write on the message card that will accompany the delivery. It is easy if the flowers are being delivered as a birthday card for instance, but there are plenty of other reasons for sending flowers, thank you’s, to cheer someone up, get well wishes or even to say sorry. Getting the wording right can be difficult, and it has been known for customers to text or email the wording, if I have put them on the spot over the phone.

Your Chichester Florist will deliver your flowers within a 7 mile radius of Chichester, so I can get to the Selsey and Wittering areas as well as Bognor, Southbourne and Lavant etc.

Ideally same day orders need to be placed as early in the day as possible, but if the order is placed up until lunchtime I will do my best to deliver the same day.

So if you would like to send someone a lovely flowery gift, just call your Chichester Florist and arrange your delivery !
