Mothering Sunday was a time when domestic servants were given time off to visit their families, and was often the only time when whole families would be able to get together.

Mother’s Day was first celebrated in America, in the early 1900’s, the two events have now merged into a time to celebrate and honour Mother’s, motherhood and maternal bonds , everywhere.

As flowers are the symbol of pure love, they make the best gift for Mother’s Day !

This year as well as a traditional bouquets we are preparing a lovely selection of flower arrangements from a vintage style trug to flowers in a handbag !

Also, this year in conjunction with the Fragrance Department of House of Fraser, Chichester, we are including Prada Goodie bag with a selection of free perfume samples !

Our mini-fleet of drivers will be on the road delivering throughout Chichester,  Bosham, Selsey, Wittering, Bognor Regis and Barnham, all day on Saturday 9^th and again on Sunday 10^th.

I must admit I find it very difficult in the Supermarket, watching people select Bouquets of flowers. Tonight in Sainsbury’s there were lots of people buying last minute Valentine’s Day Cards and Bouquets of flowers. I would really like to approach them and point out the advantages of buying local !

The quality of the flowers being sold is nothing compared to the selection I have at the workshop, there is just no comparison – but how can I educate everyone into looking for the difference ?

The heads of the Grand prix roses that I have in stock are about 4 times larger than the supermarket ones and are in great condition, the supermarket flowers just look dull and sad !

Luckily they wouldn’t sell something like this in the Supermarket – 24 Grand Prix Red Roses with Diamonte detail, all handtied and presented in a recycled cardboard vase ! Lucky Girl !

We have quite a full diary for tomorrow with deliveries scheduled between Felpham and Wittering ! I am lucky enough to have two very capabable drivers on hand ! Tony and Jan will be on the road for as long as it needs, but we will miss having Lou – to give directions and Morgan to drive too – please make Valentines Day fall during half term next year !

This is just a very small belated note to say a massive thank you for all your wonderful work ding the flowers for our wedding. We felt so incredibly blessed to have found you as our florist; the flowers were exactly what we had asked for and also so much better than we could have ever imagined. The bouquets and buttonholes were exquiste and added so much to the look of the day and Charlotte’s bouquet -particularly- was just breathtakingly beautiful. Our photographer insisted it accompanied us for all our couple photo’s as it just made the picture. The doors, cake and center pieces were also fabulous and the room had been transformed by your flowers into our perfect venue. It has been a complete pleasure working with you from beginning to end. Just to say what a lovely bouquet of flowers I received for Valentines Day. Its been over week and a majority of the flowers are still good. The flowers were clearly fresh and well conditioned. In the past I found flowers on Valentines Day have not lasted so thank you. I would certainly recommend you to friends.
